By train: Mannheim main station (“Mannheim Hbf”) is a transportation hub in the immediate vicinity of the University of Mannheim. You can reach it from several international airports within a few hours (see above). To check railway schedules and to buy tickets, please visit the website of Deutsche Bahn (German railway operator) and choose “Mannheim Hbf” as destination.
By car: If you are driving without the help of GPS, you can reach the university by taking the A6 highway, and exiting at Mannheim Mitte (A656). Go straight ahead to reach B37, follow it past the Planetarium and then turn left following the sign indicating Universität. Once you have passed Mannheim main station, you are on Bismarckstrasse, which leads you directly to the palace (left hand side) where the conference will be held.
Parking: Mannheim Palace does not have a visitor’s car park. We recommend using the parking lot underneath the university’s cafeteria (Mensa) or the parking lot of your accommodation. For being directed to the Mensa car park, enter Bismarckstrasse 10 in 68161 Mannheim into your navigation system.
To reach the Mensa parking lot you need to drive along the building and follow the right lane until you have passed a fork. Afterwards, make sure to use the left lane as you need to make a U-turn after approximately 150 meters. A blue parking sign will indicate the upcoming turn. After the U-turn, go on for another 150 meters until you can enter the Mensa parking lot by making a turn to the right.
